The construction of this tooling for a serie of 40 feet racing boats, based on plans by naval expert Nigel Irens, followed a precise and demanding process.
The project began with the manufacture of a male preform, featuring digitally cut and precisely assembled couples, laying the foundations of a shape true to the design plans. On that shape were molded port and starboard side molds. Each identical, those molds were created in carbon with vinylester in order to endure high temperatures. The aim being to be able to produce prepreg hulls.
